COMMITMENTS

CULTURAL CONTINUITY

We aim to raise the percentage of young artisans in our partner communities through our Master and Apprentice program because we believe the continuity of our culture lies in the hands of the young. We work to sustain the intergenerational heritage of weaving and other handcrafting skills.

DESIGN & INNOVATION

We apply contemporary and classic design on traditional materials. This goal powers us to push for timeless design and timely innovation. This applies in the colours and patterns our communities weave and in the design collaborations we forge with trailblazing artists.

CIRCULARITY & ZERO WASTE

We pledge not only to promote and elevate Filipino culture but to honour Mother Earth. Under our circularity efforts, we upcycle manufacturing scraps into new fabrics that will otherwise go to landfills. We find ways to use up our smallest weave scraps into delightful new products or production materials.

ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT

We establish a strong foundation in our ecosystem business model where we are highly invested in the equal growth of our partners and stakeholders. We support our partners through our Community Enterprise Development Program that promote cultural appreciation, offer business skills transfer, and provide capacity building opportunities.

SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD

We ensure the quality of life and income security of each artisan we work with by providing market access and linkages. We commit to consistent demand, support growth in their production capacity and nurture pride for their talent and skills.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

We are comprised of mostly women artisans driving change in their respective communities, working at the comforts of their own homes to fulfil their primary roles as mothers. We work with women-led partners, teams and weaving communities. By lifting up other women artisans and artists, we ensure economic sustainable development for all.

SOCIAL PROCUREMENT

We encouraging private and public institutions to honor procurement requirements to social and community enterprises. We challenge them to be more inclusive in their supply chain and reinvest in the local economy.

Community Enterprise Development Program

In our commitment to provide sustainable livelihood and create positive impact, ANTHILL Fabric Gallery institutes its Community Enterprise Development Program (CEDP). CEDP is a community and culture based modular coursework facilitated informally through dialogue and workshops among our direct partners. The program is comprised of the following courses:

CULTURAL APPRECIATION

We build a culture of gratitude and pride among our communities and establish a business partnership that is founded on shared values and the vision to preserve our weaving culture.

PRODUCT DESIGN AND INNOVATION

We conduct knowledge and skill share and encourage co-creation among our Design Collaborators and Artisans to continuously explore design and innovations that go beyond market trends

BUSINESS SKILLS TRANSFER

We support in putting systems and structures in place and professionalising business by transferring basic financial recording and business management skills among enterprise partner communities. This is to ensure fair wages, consistent supply and quality output -all foundational prerequisites for their business to grow

MASTER AND APPRENTICE PROGRAM

We incentivise our Master Weavers and Master Crafters and augment their income by 20% with the condition that they train an apprentice among the younger generation who will carry on their craft

FINANCIAL LITERACY AND SAVINGS PROGRAM

We provide life and health insurance and access to education, home improvement and enterprise loans through our microfinance institution partner. We equip our partners with knowledge and suitable support on financial literacy for long-term economic stability

CIRCULARITY PROGRAMS

We are steadfast stewards of Mother Earth. Under our Circularity Program, we work to innovate to more conscious consumption and production patterns in ways that prolong the life of materials and not add more waste to landfills.

WEAVE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

We work in an effort to close the loop with our Proud Weave Wearers by giving them an opportunity to return pre-loved ANTHILL clothing that they are no longer able to wear in exchange for gift cards.

ZERO WASTE PROGRAM

We collect textile waste from corporate partners, local manufacturing businesses and designers. These waste are cut into strips by several production partners and upcycled into new weaves by the Argao Weavers in Cebu, our Textile and Innovation Centre.

RE-WEAVE

We repair, reconstruct and make pre-loved weaves available at accessible prices.

WE WEAR OUR TRIBE WITH PRIDE

This is our battle cry. We celebrate Filipino identity through heart-woven cloth. We transform traditional weaves into contemporary and zero waste design for everyday wear. Our movement of contemporary proud weave wearing is the foundation of our ecosystem.
