Circular Partners in Change

Circular Partners in Change

Fashion and textile waste has become one of the world’s largest environmental challenges, contributing significantly to pollution and climate change. Each year, the fashion industry produces approximately 92 million tonnes of textile waste, with 92% of garments ending up in landfills. (earth.org)  For visual reference, that’s about 15.M elephants! That’s a massive amount of weight. Additionally, the industry is responsible for about 10% of global carbon emissions, making it a major contributor to climate change. (earth.org

However, companies have a unique opportunity to be part of the solution by embracing circular initiatives that reduce waste, repurpose materials, and promote sustainable practices. By working together, businesses can create a powerful ripple effect, demonstrating that when we unite our efforts, we can drive positive change and make a significant impact on the environment.

At ANTHILL, we are committed to providing circular solutions and opportunities for change. Our Corporate Circularity Partnership is designed to help businesses and other organizations lead the way in sustainability through innovative practices that reduce textile waste.

Upcycling Textile Waste: A Value-Driven Approach

At the core of our Corporate Circularity Partnership is a commitment to upcycling textile waste in all its forms. Previously, our approach to circularity was centered around our Zero Waste Weave, where we focused on transforming discarded textiles into innovative, sustainable fabrics. Now, we expand our innovation to include working with commercial textile waste and deadstock fabrics. Whether it’s scrap materials or large-scale fabric waste, if it involves upcycling and reducing textile waste, it’s part of our circularity mission.

Our growing circularity hub, Barrio, serves as a vibrant space for collaboration and innovation. We work directly with our corporate partners to elevate discarded materials into high-quality products that not only add value to your brand but also to every part of our supply chain. Our upcycling initiatives include:

Zero Waste Weave: We transform your discarded textiles into bespoke, branded fabrics, creating sustainable solutions that elevate your product offerings.

Upcycling Commercial Fabrics: We give new life to usable materials, enabling you to demonstrate your commitment to the circular economy while reducing your environmental footprint.

Transform Your Sustainability Strategy

Partnering with us offers multiple avenues for businesses to enhance their sustainability initiatives:

  • Donate Textile Waste: Contribute your fabric scraps, offcuts, old clothes, and damaged items, which we can upcycle into valuable new products tailored to your needs.

  • Buy-Back Program: By donating your textile waste, we can develop custom products such as uniforms or furnishings, effectively reintegrating materials back into your supply chain and aligning with your corporate responsibility goals.

  • Custom Corporate Gifts: We can create unique gifts from your textile waste, positioning your business as a leader in sustainable practices while enhancing brand loyalty.

Our Circular Partners in Change

We are proud to work hand-in-hand with businesses that share our passion for a sustainable future. Our partnerships showcase the impact of our circularity efforts. Working with Manila Peninsula allowed us to explore and create new designs for our ready-to-wear using the zero-waste weaves from their discarded towels and linens. This collaboration exemplifies how businesses can champion sustainability by repurposing textile waste into valuable products.

Similarly, Atmosphere Resort, a boutique haven in Dumaguete, also joined our circularity movement. With their donation of textile waste, we were able to weave stunning fabrics that now adorn their suites as pillow covers. This partnership demonstrates how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into the hospitality industry, enhancing both guest experience and environmental responsibility.

Our collaboration with Bayo, facilitated through the Bayo Foundation, showcases the power of collective action. By upcycling their textile wastes into new fabrics, we not only prevented materials from ending up in landfills but also created opportunities for local artisans to showcase their skills. These upcycled textiles have been integrated into Bayo’s atelier brand, demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainability and community empowerment.
